The HeartbroQen Project

Welcome to the HeartbroQen Project.

In July 2023, I went through a breakup after a committed 5-year relationship. As I looked around for support, all I wanted was to be able to tell my mom what I was going through. There have been many times I couldn’t share my life with my family. Being both Queer and Punjabi has never coexisted peacefully for me.

Heartbreak can be extremely isolating.

Rather than go through this alone, I’m reaching out to you - the Queer community.

When was the last time you got your heartbroken?

How did you grieve?

Who was there for you?

These stories will be shared at www.theheartbroqenproject.tumblr.com, on instagram, as well as in multiple iterations shared through installation and performance art.

All submissions remain anonymous for safety purposes. It can be anywhere from one sentence to a few paragraphs in length.

Thank you for your participation and vulnerability.

We are heartbroken, but we are not alone.
